The Team
ALEXIS STEVENSON
Alexis has extensive experience in eventing, dressage, and hunter/jumper disciplines, with a particular focus on starting young horses and preparing them for their first shows. She enjoys working with horses from the early stages of groundwork through to competition readiness. Her diverse equestrian journey has provided her with the opportunity to explore and understand various training theories and approaches.
What drives Alexis is her commitment to doing what’s best for each horse, approaching them as individuals while upholding core values of patience, carefulness, and kindness in training. This belief allows her to tailor her methods to meet the unique needs of each horse she works with.
Alexis has hands-on experience in a variety of settings throughout her career. She worked at a large eventing sales facility in Kentucky, a high-end dressage breeding operation in Alberta, and has been a lead instructor at both small and large riding schools. Alexis also served as president of her college’s equestrian team for multiple years, where she helped riders navigate new horses and competitions. Her success in this role stemmed from her ability to quickly mesh with new horses, a skill that remains integral to her work today.
Outside of the equestrian world, Alexis made the move from Canada to Texas almost a decade ago to further her software consulting career (and, honestly, to escape the snow). She became a certified Texas Master Naturalist in 2024, a program that has taught her the importance of proper land management and caring for the native environment. If she is not around the horses or in nature, you can usually find Alexis programming or diving into a new TV show.
